Charney Heart and Lung Clinic at Sharp Memorial Hospital

The Charney Heart and Lung Clinic is located on the fourth floor of the James S. Brown Pavilion.

Our Charney Heart and Lung Clinic provides a broad range of outpatient treatment options for various lung and cardiovascular conditions through our Advanced Heart Program and Advanced Pulmonary Program.

The lung clinic provides screenings and comprehensive treatments for lung cancer, and manages incidental lung nodules and other pulmonary conditions such as chronic obstructive disease (COPD), asthma and interstitial lung disease.

Alongside the guidance of a patient navigator, each patient will experience a comprehensive and personalized journey to monitor any nodules or symptoms that could lead to lung cancer or other lung conditions.

Patients will be given the opportunity to:

• Receive support from an expert team including a board-certified pulmonologist, respiratory therapist and nursing staff

• Have lung nodules closely monitored with regular imaging and appropriate, timely follow-up

• Participate in the prehabilitation program that combines exercise, diet, sleep and other health lifestyle factors to prepare the patient for lung condition treatments

• Utilize leading-edge technology, including endobronchial ultrasound, linear accelerators, robotic-assisted surgery, ION (robotic-assisted bronchoscopy) and more
  

At the lung clinic, patients have the support of an expert team of cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, electrophysiologists and nurse practitioners who provide comprehensive heart and vascular care.

The clinic provides care for patients who may need or have received a heart transplant, or an LVAD, and those who have been newly diagnosed with heart failure.
