Women on Wheels Support Group
Sharp Rehabilitation Services strives to empower women of all ages with disabilities through the Women on Wheels Support Group.
Presented by Sharp Memorial Hospital
The Women on Wheels (WOW) Support Group gathers to share thoughts and feelings about current life challenges, victories and visions. The group is made up primarily of women in wheelchairs; however, women of all ages and disabilities are welcome to attend the group's support groups, educational groups and social events.
Past discussion topics have included:
- Coping with the holidays
- Self-advocacy
- Motivation
The women-only group has enjoyed attending plays, art therapy sessions and potluck summer parties. Joining the group is a great opportunity to offer support to one another in a safe environment.
